Huckleberry
Hip #76
14.3 hands
1000 pounds
Grade Quarter Horse
Buckskin Roan Gelding
YOB: 2021
Huckleberry is not only eye-catching with his unique buckskin roan coloring, but he has been there and done that! He competed in the thrilling sport of skijoring in Estes Park, CO – racing under the spotlight after dark in frigid temperatures, with loud music and cheering crowds. He has been trailered the length and breadth of eastern Wyoming, from Denver, CO to Buffalo, WY and from Jeffrey City, WY to Douglas, WY, riding at the iconic TA Ranch, and carrying mail in the Pony Express Re-Ride. He has conquered many obstacles, including tires, steps, teeter-totters, balance beams, rolling bridges and a suspension bridge. He has packed elk meat and antlers 11 miles over rough terrain out of the Flat Top Mountains. He has ridden even more miles on both mountain and neighborhood trails, experiencing bicyclists, deer, water crossings, dogs running at fences, and large trucks in busy traffic. Not to mention, carrying flags, playing horse soccer, riding bareback, competing in gymkhana events, riding double and jumping are also on his resume! He will pay attention and lay his ears back when moving cows. He has very strong hooves and a quarter horse build. He was ridden by experienced kids during summer camp. He is well-suited for a confident, experienced kid or intermediate adult, or anyone with more experience. If you are looking for a horse to love, as Toby Keith says, he’ll be your huckleberry!
